ICT: ITS SIGNIFICANCE AND HOW IT MAKES US RESILIENT

Innovations in information and communication technology (ICT) are progressively providing new tools to aid in disaster risk management (DRM). Because of the rapid growth of computing and communication devices, ICT's ability to improve the DRM framework has become a significant aspect in enhancing resilience. Japan has produced numerous forward-thinking ICT for DRM as a nation with high levels of catastrophe risk and technical progress.

ICTs (Information and Communication Technologies) play an important role in mitigation, readiness, response, and restoration by facilitating the timely flow of crucial information. Smart wearable technologies have a lot of potential for helping residents in disasters. However, deploying these gadgets for catastrophe applications is still a fresh concept to the general public. Most individuals are hesitant to rely on unknown technologies during a disaster. Thus, in order for these gadgets to be genuinely beneficial in catastrophes, it is critical to understand the aspects that influence public acceptance. Previous research indicates that perceived usefulness is a strong predictor of people's acceptance of smart wearable gadgets. Online websites and applications are becoming more important in disaster response and recovery. However, it might be difficult to make sense of the huge range of online grassroots activities that emerge in such situations.

Even after a disaster, ICT remains critical, especially if communication connections are disrupted. Rescue operations can be delayed if timely information about what is happening on the ground is not sent, causing extra harm and injury. When damage assessment reports are not supplied on time, the government and humanitarian groups lose sight of the needs of affected populations. Citizens, both victims and their families, would become worried if they couldn't speak with one another. Knowing that one's family is safe is the most important issue during a crisis. As a result, it is vital that telecommunications services be restored as soon as possible following a disaster. But the most important thing to remember about restoration is that it takes time.
